Bognor Pier / End of the year

Back in Bognor Regis for Christmas again this year I went for a walk on Christmas Day. Do you see a recurring theme here! I do like having to world to myself as I said in my last post. The pier area is beautiful at sunset and you’ll find on this blog I posted some photos of it but from a different point of view last years Christmas holiday.

I was searching for a shot that was a symbol of the day: The end of the year, the way I felt about having the place to (pretty much) myself. Waiting patiently I found this well dressed couple taking the sea air at sunset. Id spent some time working on my exposure to catch the contrast I wanted (the lens flares are mean!)  and here we are:2S4B4409

Christmas 2007

I was in France for Christmas in 2007, at about 5:30 am I crept out of where I was staying and snuck down to some local town. It was tiny, I can’t remember what it was called. I felt compelled to get away from everyone and feel the world around me before the house awoke and the Christmas hubbub began. I didn’t pass a soul. It was so misty. It was perfect.

There was an old railway line cutting through the countryside, it had been ‘tarmaced’ to become a cyclepath, I can’t remember the towns, it passed through or near…Cenac, Carsac or Souillac, I can’t remember which was which. And there was this church in the mist – a christmas gift to myself.
